When I think of home renovations, I tend to think of fancy upgrades: Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and sweeping staircases are usually the first additions that come to my mind (no doubt due to all those thousand-dollar makeovers I’ve seen on TV).
But thanks to the many creative “DIY”ers out there, home renovation is starting to take a more down-to-earth turn. Now, instead of getting big-ticket upgrades, more and more homes are going au naturel with cordwood construction.
And though I’ve seen a lot of interesting objects used in do-it-yourself home makeovers — like old pennies used to transform a boring kitchen backsplash — I’ve never seen a floor made out of this before…
Across the nation, a very unique — and very beautiful — renovation technique is taking homes by storm. Though this special technique dates back thousands of years, more and more houses around the world have begun to bring it back into fashion.
